Neulamäki-Vuorilampi nature trail
The area of Neulamäki-Vuorilampi, in the western part of Kuopio peninsular, is one of the most important recreation areas in Kuopio.

The area is typified by large height differences and high rocky hills. The highest point is Suuri Neulamäki, which rises close to 200 meters above sea level and over 100 meters above the surface of lake Kallavesi. At the foot of Suuri Neulamäki is lake Vuorilampi created from canyon about 90 metres below the summit of the hill.

The main part of the area is the Vuorilampi nature forest, which is a protected area. The vegetation of the area ranges from bare rocky slopes to lush deciduous woodlands. The nature trail is about 6 km long and it takes 2-4 hours.
